Nefelibata: One who lives in the clouds of their own imagination
Light and lacy, the nefebilata shawl is worked in rows from one vertex to the opposite side. The lacy edge is worked as the shawl is made and then a lace border is added along the top edge. A simple filet pattern creates stripes parallel to one edge. The pattern works well with solid, variegated, or gradient yarn. The shawl has been tested in a range of yarn weights.
Level: Advanced Beginner After the beginning rows, the main shawl pattern has a simple 6 row repeat.
Size: Adjustable. Information is included to change the size of the pattern. The size can be adjusted by working more or fewer pattern repeats before working the border. The pictured shawl used 1094 yards of fingering weight yarn and is approximately 65” wide and 19” deep before blocking and 78” wide and 19.5” deep after blocking.
