Snowy Creek Hat

The Snowy Creek Hat features a main cable that is replicated around the hat and sandwiched in between columns of twists. The cables and twists culminate in a unique crown. This is an intermediate level hat, worked from the bottom up. The body of the hat uses only 2/2 and 1/1 cables. The crown uses a few special cable decreases.

The pattern has been test knit and tech edited.

Sizes:

• 0-3 months (6-12 months, Child, Teen, Adult S, Adult L)
• Hat circumference: 14.25 (16.25, 18, 19, 19, 21.5)" / 36 (41.5, 45.5, 48.5, 48.5, 54.5) cm
• Head circumference: 16 (18, 20, 21, 21, 23)" / 40.5 (45.5, 51, 53.5, 53.5, 58.5) cm *Note: Teen and Adult S are the same circumference but vary in height.

Yardage: 110 (140, 185, 210, 220, 250)

Level: Intermediate The pattern includes the some 2/2 and 1/1 cables and some special decrease stitches and cables.

Materials:

• DK weight yarn – I used The Fiber Seed’s Sprout DK DK weight, 90% Merino, 10% Nylon, 250 yards (230 m)/ 100g in Rock Creek.
• Size US 4/3.50 mm 16” circular needle
• Size US 6/4.00 mm 16” circular needle and double pointed needles
• Yarn needle
• Cable needle
• Stitch markers, including a unique marker for beginning of round
