The Double Twist Hat features columns of ribbing that twist twice and move apart only to twist with another column before ending in a simple but elegant crown. It works up quickly and makes a cozy hat for children or adults.

I made the pictured hat with Knit Pick's Muse Aran Weight. Several of my testers used worsted or DK weight yarn.
Notes:
- Gauge on the cable rows is very important for sizing. I recommend that you measure across as a wide section of cables as possible, with the yarn laying flat, unstretched, and off of your needles. If your cables are much tighter or looser, you can adjust the starting number of stitches. The pattern can be worked for any multiple of 16 stitches.
- The pictured hat used a provisional cast on, which was then used to knit an inner hat. Instructions are included to create a similar double layered hat.
